FR Core
The most commonly used core for facades
Its thermoplastic core with mineral filler is fire-retardant: it has very limited combustibility, produces very little smoke and releases no flaming droplets, which is why it covers most ventilated facades where a non-combustible material is not required. Available in 3, 4, 5 and 6 mm. We supply it cut, milled and folded to size, ready to install. We install in Catalonia and ship worldwide.
On facades, 4 mm is the usual thickness; 3 mm is used for cladding and signs, and 5 and 6 mm where large pieces need extra stiffness. It is lighter and slightly more economical than A2, accepts every fold angle (90°, 135° and 180°) and can be roll-curved. What is the FR panel used for?
- Ventilated facades in new construction and renovation projects, with suspended, riveted, or gluedmounting systems.
- Cladding for columns, canopies, overhangs, parapets, and balconies.
- Corporate branding: facades of dealerships, gas stations, and retail stores.
If the project requires a non-combustible material, use the A2 composite panel.
Machining
FR is cut, milled, and bent (90°, 135°, and 180°) to make trays, and it can be curved using rollers. We do this in our workshop using CNC machines: see our machining services.
Frequently asked questions
What does B-s1,d0 mean?
This is the fire reaction class according to European standard EN 13501-1: very limited flammability (B), very low smoke emission (s1), and no falling burning droplets (d0).
What thickness should I choose for a facade?
The most common thickness for facades is 4 mm. The 3 mm thickness is used for cladding and signs, and the 5–6 mm thickness is used when greater rigidity is needed for large pieces.
How much does the 4-mm FR panel weigh?
Between 6.8 and 7.3 kg/m², depending on the thickness of the aluminum sheet.
How much does it cost?
